ORGANISMUS POLYMORPHUS by Marie Christiane Seiferth

From the perspective of an almost microscopic profundity, the viewer penetrates the interior of an organism, encountering a porous background of synthetic foam or a sensitive background of latex which, due to their very structures, are evocative of skin which has not yet been arranged in such a manner as to form a surface. Milky synthetic transparencies arranged in multidimensional layers overlap these backgrounds in a vivid, dynamic manner, permeated also by cutout forms. Fine pencil drawings may be encountered at certain points, fixed with hair spray, presenting details of organic anatomical forms and structures. The polymorphous character of an organism is revealed through the fact that multiple layers of transparencies may be deconstructed and reconstructed ad infinitum.
